13 Days - The Cuban Missile Crisis

Du kan inte koka en halv höna...

Ett strålande kortspel som beskrivits som kortversionen av Twilight Struggle, och varför inte? Här kokas det Kalla kriget ned till 13 intensiva dagar, då sovjetiska stridsfartyg rör sig mot Kuba och President Kennedy sätter hårt mot hårt mot Nikita Chrusjtjovs planer att placera kärnvapen nästgårds USA. Spelet spelas i tre rundor om ett litet antal kort vardera. Varje kort räknas och en viktig del av spelet är att försöka lista ut motståndarens mål och vilka kort denne kan tänkas komma att spela. Man spelar med en gemensam kortlek, vilket gör att man ibland tvingas spela ut kort som triggar historiska händelser som enbart är bra för motståndaren. Dessutom måste man hela tiden balansera på rätt sida den fina linje som avgör om världen kastas in i ett kärnvapenkrig eller inte. Vinner gör den som avgår med mest prestige efter de 13 dagarna, givet att världen fortfarande finns kvar… Här gäller det att balansera skickligt, för som Chrusjtjov sa: "Du kan inte koka en halv höna och låta andra hälften lägga ägg."
