Shogi – Japanese Chess

This game has a long history in Japan.

The goal of the game is to capture the opponent's king. The playing pieces of the two players are distinguished

by the direction of the pointed sides, as opposed to the colours. It shows who the playing pieces currently belong to.

Compared to chess, Shogi has charming differences and additional rules that make the game interesting.

An important difference is in the capture and reuse of playing pieces. This means that these do not decrease in

number during the game so the tide can turn at any time for the player. The second basic difference relative to classical

chess is the upgrade of game pieces, which provides them with more options for moves.
